FMP Blogpost 11 - Reflection
This unit has been the most exciting unit of my degree. While I did find it challenging I did not struggle with it nearly as much as I did with some of my previous units.
I feel I have finally found the best time management techniques for me, and it helped me to stay organised and on top of all of my work for this whole unit.
My love for unique architecture combined with my passion for sustainability kept me excited and engaged for the entirety of this project. Looking back I am very glad I have chosen architecture as my career path and FMP subject, as it is one I am not only passionate about but also one I feel confident and capable at.
While I struggle to call any of the models perfect, and I can see tiny things that I could sand or tweak, I feel I did a good job balancing attention to detail with knowing when to stop. It is hard to call any creation perfect, and it is important to know when to call it finished, especially with a deadline. That said I feel that these models are of a quality I am extremely proud of and show off a range of skills and materials -, as well as my eye for small detail.
I would have liked to use the laser cutter and create the war memorial model, however I think that the 4 models I made are better off that I didn’t try to cram another model into the time and they all likely would have ended up rushed and less detailed. I plan to try and make the war memorial model between now and new blades in my free time.
